Cineasta y fotógrafo cubano, graduado en la especialidad de Dirección Documental en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) de San Antonio de los Baños en 2015. Su obra explora territorios donde la relación con la historia, la muerte, los sueños y las utopías ponen en crisis nuestras nociones de realidad.
Sus películas han sido exhibidas en más de treinta países y en festivales como IDFA, Rotterdam, Visions du Réel, DOK Leipzig, Cinema du Réel, Mar del Plata, Winterthur, Ji.hlava, Clermont Ferrand, entre otros.
Ha realizado los cortometrajes La despedida (IDFA – Mejor Corto en FICUNAM), Duelo (Cinema du Réel – Mejor Corto en Mar del Plata), Metatrón (Visions du Réel), Home (Ji.hlava), Abisal (Visions du Réel – Mejor Corto en DOK Leipzig), La historia se escribe de noche (Festival de Rotterdam – Mejor Corto en Vienna Shorts); y los mediometrajes El Proyecto (Visions du Réel) y Terranova (Mejor Cortometraje en el Festival de Rotterdam)
Entre 2017 y 2019 coordinó el Máster de Cine Alternativo organizado por la EICTV, institución con la que colabora como docente. Imparte cursos de dirección en el Instituto de Cine de Madrid y el Master de Cine Documental de Lens.
He is a Cuban filmmaker and photographer, graduated in Documentary Directing from the International Film and Television School (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños in 2015. His work explores territories where the relationship with history, death, dreams, and utopias puts our notions of reality into crisis.
His films have been shown in over thirty countries and at festivals such as IDFA, Rotterdam, Visions du Réel, DOK Leipzig, Cinéma du Réel, Mar del Plata, Winterthur, Ji.hlava, Clermont Ferrand, among others.
He has directed the short films The farewell (IDFA – Best Short at FICUNAM), Duel (Cinéma du Réel – Best Short at Mar del Plata), Metatron (Visions du Réel), Home (Ji.hlava), Abyssal (Visions du Réel – Best Short at DOK Leipzig), History Is Written at Night (Rotterdam IFF – Best Short at Vienna Shorts); and the mid-length films The Project (Visions du Réel) and Terranova (Best Short Film at the Rotterdam Film Festival).
From 2017 to 2019, he coordinated the Master’s Program in Alternative Cinema organized by EICTV, an institution with which he continues to collaborate as a teacher. He teaches directing workshops at the Instituto de Cine de Madrid and the Master's Program in Documentary Film at Lens School of Visual Arts.
